If you are having an aspiration abortion, we advise you to bring one responsible adult with you for support and to assist you home. You cannot operate a vehicle for 24 hours as you are considered legally impaired. Your support person can wait in the clinic for you or return later to pick you up. If someone is coming to pick you up, they must be at the clinic no later than 4 p.m.
To respect everyone’s privacy, support people are not allowed into the procedure or recovery room.
If you are having a medical abortion, you are welcome to bring one person with you to the clinic. However, you are not required to bring an escort as you can drive yourself home.
